While your soup is heating and/or cooking, place a pan on low heat nearby in which you will add the oil and the teaspoon of Asha Daal Masala.
Once the mustard seeds in the spice mix start to move, it’s ready. (Be careful not to let it burn; usually a few seconds are enough to simmer the spices.)
Using a spatula, pour the contents into your soup and mix everything together. If you don’t have a spatula, you can pour a few spoonfuls of soup into the pan before adding the mixture back into the rest of the soup.
You can now pour into your bowls or cups and enjoy.
